Ethyl trans-caffeate is an ethyl ester resulting from the formal condensation of the carboxy group of trans-caffeic acid with ethanol. It has a role as an antineoplastic agent and an anti-inflammatory agent. It is an ethyl ester and an alkyl caffeate ester. It is functionally related to a trans-caffeic acid.
